Below are some common characters demonstrated by toddler between 28 to 36 months.
- Beginning to pedal a tricycle or balance bike.
- Motor skills has improved to be able to use scissors under supervision, bead stringing
- Speaks and understands well, engage in longer conversation with more clarity in speech
- Beginning to count, to read letters using basic phonics sounds
- Can draw shapes, pictures
- Able to focus up to 20 minutes at a time
- Able to sequence and classify objects and events, expanding problem solving skills to complete simple puzzle or how toys work
- Interested in more complex tasks like cooking or baking with adults,
- Ask questions to explore the world around them
- Expressing preferences for certain foods, using utensils with more proficiency
- Sleeping: single nap during the say or dropping the nap altogether
What can we do to speed up their growth’s progress kids between 2 to 3 years old?
- Continue to show love, positive affirmations, singing, telling stories
- Speed-play with flashcard on various topics.
- Can introduce informational audiobooks or continue with classical music
- talking: they can have big emotions, try to describe what they see, experience and feel
- Continue with eye exercise ( wave a toy up/down, left-right, or in circle and your child’s eye follow the toy)
- Physical play: walk on a line/circle, running, catching a ball etc
- Cognitive development games: matching play cards, objects, sorting, sequencing
- Continue to draw lines, shapes, letters, pictures, numbers
- Continue with practical life activities: filing, brushing, sweeping
- Sound it out game: reading early phonics books
